Thanks to my awesome buddy Big Tim for the inspiration for this amazing recipe. This is probably the simplest you can get ribs and they are just fall off the bone tender when done and you will devour them. You need to have a batch of my Beasty BBQ Sauce on hand if you want them slathered in sauce or you can just use them with the dry rub if you prefer them that way. Either way I hope you all love them and leave me some feedback. Enjoy
Beasty BBQ Baby Back Ribs
Ingredients
- 1 rack of baby back pork ribs
- 1/4 cup paprika
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne
- batch of beasty bbq sauce
Instructions
- Combine all of your spices together in a mixing bowl and mix well
- Cut your ribs into sizes that are manageable in your crock pot, I have the crock pot listed above and only have to cut them in half so I had two rib slabs
- If you have the silver lining on the ribs remove it before applying your rub
- Apply your dry rub generously to your ribs and tightly wrap in plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for at least an hour but feel free to leave it for a couple of days to absorb all that flavor
- Place your ribs bone side down in the crockpot stacked on top of each other and place 1/8 Cup water in the bottom to get the cooking process started
- Set your crock-pot on low and cook for 8 hours
- If you are around, every hour or so rotate your ribs so that they continue to self baste each other with one on top of the other
- Around hour 7 or 8, using a basting brush generously lather on the Beasty BBQ sauce and leaving the ribs in the pot for however long it takes to warm the sauce up
- Enjoy

I’ve made these before for just Me, Myself and I. Today I’m making them for my mom for Mother’s Day. So fricken delish!
George Bryant
Let me know how it turns out. Happy Mother’s Day!

George Bryant
Let me know!

Have you considered bottling and selling your BBQ sauce? Its much better than the bottled Paleo sauces Ive bought before, but a hassle to make all the time. I would definitely always keep a bottle in the fridge!
George Bryant
Haha thank you Austen. We will have to wait and see about that :)
Rebecca
I just made these but did them on the grill over low, indirect heat for about 5 hours. The rub was enough for the 3 slabs of ribs that I had, and I basted them with the BBQ sauce. Came out fantastic!!!
George Bryant
Awesome Rebecca :)

I chuckled when I saw the picture that went with the rib recipe. Then I made them!!!! My plate looks like your picture plus lick marks…OK, maybe gross-but true. Exceptional yum! Best ribs I’ve ever made Paleo or not.
Love your recipes. You’ve re-inspired me to get back on track, thank you.
George Bryant
Haha Kristina that is hilarious. Good to hear you loved them and even better that you are back on track :)
Greg
Making these ribs now. I felt like the amount of rub created by your recipe was way more than I needed for one rack of ribs. I could have easily coated 2 racks so I’m going to save the rest for another rack this week.
George Bryant
You are right Greg, I use that rub for EVERYTHING so I keep it generous to have some on hand
Holly
This looks yummy, just checking a 1/4 CUP of paprika?
CivilizedCaveman
Yes thats 4 tablespoons and its so you have leftover rub, you won’t be using it all

I have been keeping up with your blog for some time now and I have to say I used this recipe for the ribs this past Valentines day, and both my girlfriend and I were amazed at how good the ribs tasted. I actually suffered a C.Difficle infection for a year and to avoid forming any type of IBD I took my health into my own hands and decided to start eating paleo. I love your site and I love what you are doing for the Paleo Community. Thanks for all of your work.

Thank you so much for the kind words. You just made my week and it helps me to know I am making a difference. Keep up the awesome work

These ribs are fabulous! The Beasty BBQ sauce was a bit too hot for me but I put on some Black Cherry BBQ sauce from Whole Foods on them and the sweetness of the sauce combined with the heat of the rub was the perfect combo!!! I'm salivating just thinking about how good they were.

I just figured out how to post again! My ribs turned out excellent! I'm not a big bbq sauce fan and I LOVED the Beasty BBQ sauce. The meat fell off the bone.
George
Oh please do
Renee
My ribs are cooking in the cockpot right now! I'll let you know how they turn out.
