Back in 2016, I lost 40 pounds over a period of just 2 months. But then, in the two weeks right after that, I gained back 15 of those pounds. It took me a little while to realize why this happened. I eventually figured out it had everything to do with my environment!
Four days before the video, I made this realization and started to switch some things up. I ended up losing 20 more pounds!
Here’s the thing. At a certain point it doesn’t matter what you’re eating or how much you’re working out, because of one simple thing: your environment.
The reason you’re not losing weight is because your body operates in one of two states: a sympathetic state and a parasympathetic state. These are the operational states of your nervous system. The sympathetic state is the “fight or flight” state, which tries to protect you from harm. The parasympathetic state, on the other hand, is the “rest and digest” state.
Your weight loss is stuck because your body is stuck in a sympathetic state.
But why does being stuck in this state hurt your weight loss efforts? I’ll give you a hint: It’s because your body thinks it’s not going to get fed again.
How do you fix it? You need to look at your environment.
