Avocado Chocolate Pudding

I don’t know about you, but when I was a child I was addicted to the snack pack pudding. I vividly remember sitting down and eating an entire six pack of those monsters in one sitting. Not so healthy. Who knew that once I went Paleo that I would be able to create an alternative that tastes better and is better for me. I present to you this Avocado Chocolate Pudding. You will be tricking kids, spouses or friends left and right. Enjoy.

Avocado Chocolate Pudding

Yes you read that right, avocado chocolate pudding. Did you just think avocados only possessed the magic quality of being delicious as themselves. I know a lot of people that love to sprinkle salt on avocados and eat them, I personally prefer the sweet approach and this never disappoints.

Avocado fact: They are a climacteric fruit. Do you know what that means?

Click To Tweet

I didn’t start eating avocados until I moved to California, which is probably a good thing since I have only ever tasted the best. Did you know that avocados are a climacteric fruit? Big word right! That just means that they mature on the tree and ripen once they are off the tree. I know that doesn’t relate to avocado chocolate pudding but I think it’s a pretty cool fact to know.

I truly believe avocados are magical, so before you make this avocado chocolate pudding, here are a few more of my favorite avocado recipes for when you are done.

  • Avocado Stuffed Burger
  • Spicy Avocado Hummus
  • Bacon Herb Biscuits (These don’t have avocados, but I like to eat them together)

Leave me a comment with your favorite way to enjoy avocados!

  • 1 banana
  • 6 oz blueberries

    Ooh, that looks yummy!

BTW, I saw this banana slicer and thought it would be perfect to use in prepping your dish: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0047E0EII/ref=tsm_1_fb_lk

Actually, you should just read the reviews for the product. There were some particularly clever people writing reviews for this thing and they are hysterical. Really. Go read them. BTW, I’m not responsible if insatiable giggling ensues.

I made this for a dinner party of 1/2 paleo and have carnivore guests on Saturday and it was a big hit!! I will say, my avo’s were rather large, so I ended up using 2.5 TBSPN of honey, two pinces of salt and ground cloves, and two bananas.

Um…apparently I’m multi-tasking. That would be 1/2 carnivore guests, not have. Oh, and two pinches of salt, not pinces. :)

Looks totally heavenly, and contains both chocolate AND avocado! Two major food groups in one dish! All’s I need to do is buy the blueberries and I’m ready to go! (I will, however, pass on the nuts.)

Oh an I just looked through your photos… incredible you have such an eye! Do you do photography as a side job or just for fun? What lens were you using for those shots? I’m heading to the north east regionals in a couple weekends and want to take some good shots but I’m not sure I’ll be able to get as close as you were here.
