These are the juiciest and best pork chops I have ever had or made. How many of you grew up eating pork chops and just accepted they were always dry? I did, but screw that grocery store pork, nothing like what I got from my farmer and will never buy meat from a store again if I can avoid it. Well back to this recipe, all the flavor combinations in this just explode in your mouth and it is amazing. Enjoy
Pork Chops and Applesauce
Ingredients
- 2 bone in pork chops
- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/3 cup dried cranberries dried with apple juice
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 small apple sliced
- 1 small onion sliced
- salt and pepper to taste
- ginger to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300 degrees fahrenheit
- Preheat a saute pan on your stove top over medium high heat
- In a mixing bowl, combine your applesauce, cranberries, lemon juice, and rosemary and mix well
- Season both sides of your pork chops with salt, pepper, and ground ginger to your liking
- Once seasoned, sear your pork chops for 2-3 mins of each side then set aside
- Line the bottom of your baking dish with your sliced onions
- Place your pork chops on the bed of onions
- Rub your garlic onto the top of your pork chops
- Place your sliced apples in a single layer on top of your pork chops
- Now evenly spoon your applesauce mixture over the top of your porkchops and cover the entire chops
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on the thickness of your chop
- Once the internal temperature reaches a minimum of 145 degrees you are good to remove them from the oven and let them rest for 10 minutes before serving
- Enjoy

Made this for the first time, didn’t have cranberries, and low on rosemary so used thyme .
It was really good , served with roasted brussel sprouts with bacon. my boys in the family had mashed potatoes as well. Thanks for the great recipe :)

I just made this, sauteeing the pork chops & then cooking everything in the slow cooker for 6 hours. SO delicious – sweet, tender meat, delicious sauce, soft & tasty apples & onions. Served next to braised cabbage, made spicy with Aleppo pepper – a nice contrast to the sweet pork!

Another great recipe! Tastes even better leftover. I served it with a baked acorn squash with cinnamon and it was delicious. Thank you for all of the great recipes they are helping my shift over to the paleo lifestyle a breeze. Keep the awesome recipes coming!

We love this dish! The pork always ends up so tender. The cranberries add a nice pop of flavor. I always serve it with a side of veggies.

This was soooooo good, I know it's pork but it reminded me of thanksgiving…weird? ;). Instead of baking them I put them in the crackpot for 6 hours. Will definitely make again and again.
