I’m still blown away by the amount of feedback and response we’ve received about the new weekly meal plan posts. Hearing how this free offering has saved you time at the store and made your weekend meals not only more delicious, but also less stressful, has been absolutely amazing. I want to keep the good times rolling and information flowing over here, so I’m really excited to announce the newest addition – monthly recipe round-ups as only Civilized Caveman can do them! It wouldn’t be right to launch this series without featuring your favorite ingredient and mine – the almighty bacon. Here are my top ten recommendations to satisfy your sweet or savory penchant for bacon in bite-sized, easy to prepare, and creatively appetizing packages.
Chocolate Bacon Almond Butter Bananas
from Civilized Caveman Cooking Creations
One of the most popular recipes on my site, there was no way I couldn’t kick this list off with my chocolate bacon almond butter bananas. Just typing those five words in the same sentence gets my mouth watering. This recipe is ridiculously good as is, but I also encourage you to mix it up and really go bananas. (See what I did there?) In all seriousness, if you haven’t tried this recipe yet, I don’t know what you’ve been waiting for. Get on it!
Bacon & Guacamole Sammies
from Nom Nom Paleo
My friend Michelle of Nom Nom Paleo outdid herself with these simple, but surreal, bacon and guacamole sandwiches. They’re perfect for any occasion, from a quick single-serving snack to a conversation-starting appetizer you can share with friends. IF you can bring yourself to share.
BLT Bites with Paleo Chipotle Mayo
from Stupid Easy Paleo
Have you seen those infomercials for the bacon bowl? Steph, the talented chef behind Stupid Easy Paleo, came up with the easiest way to make them at home without more unnecessary gadgets to clutter up your kitchen. Not only did she give us the DIY bacon bowl, but she topped herself…and said bacon bowls…with BLT ingredients and a tasty Paleo-approved chipotle mayo.
Bacon Wrapped Goat Cheese Jalapeño Poppers
from Brittany Angell
Of course, we had to include these party-pleasing jalapeño poppers from the one and only Brittany Angell. They’ve got a little kick, a whole lot of flavor, and what’s sure to be a ton of compliments from your loved ones after serving them at your next get-together. Trust me, there are hundreds of popper recipes out there, and these can’t be beat.
Maple & Candied Bacon Blonde Brownies
from The Urban Poser
These maple and candied bacon blonde brownies from Jenni at The Urban Poser look almost too picture-perfect to eat. I said almost. I would seriously chow down on these if you put a pan in front of me right now. On second thought, these recipe round-ups might have been a bad idea. I’m making myself so hungry and we’re not even done recapping this month’s list yet. Yikes.
Smoked Bacon Oysters
from Mark’s Daily Apple
My fellow Grok, Mark Sisson, knows how to do primal. These bacon-wrapped oysters pack a powerhouse of nutrients without skimping on indulgent flavors. Now, that’s what I call surf and turf. I don’t think these would even make it from the oven onto the serving tray in my house. These bite-sized, bacon-coated sea creatures would be going straight into the deep, dark, depths of my belly.
Bacon Wrapped Crab-Stuffed Prawns
from Popular Paleo
I really hope you aren’t turned off by seafood, because we had to add one more bacon-wrapped marine meal to finish the list. These crab-stuffed prawns are to die for. There aren’t many things I would say that about in life, but pretty much anything wrapped in bacon falls into that category for me. Only Ciarra of Popular Paleo would have the vision to stuff shrimp with crabmeat and then stuff that crabmeat stuffed shrimp into a bacon-wrapped seal of Civilized Caveman approval. Say that five times fast. Better yet, come and make these for me five times faster.
That rounds out our very first recipe round-up! I hope you enjoy trying these beautiful bacon-bites as much I enjoy sharing them. Please let me know what you think of this new idea and feel free to submit any ingredient or theme requests for us to feature in future round-ups. We love your feedback and want to make sure you’re getting everything you need and more than you could expect from this site. Now, go make something on this list and let me know how much you loved it!

WHERE are the instructions for “how to make Bacon Salt”??? It’s advertised all over the site, but after following every seemingly related link — I find no such instructions!
