Ingredients

BURGERS:

  • 2 pounds grassfed ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon chipotle powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon black pepper

FOR SAUCE:

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup chopped pineapple
  • 1 tablespoon coconut aminos
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds to garnish
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

BURGERS

  • Let your meat come to room temperature and then mix your ground beef with all of the above smoky spice blend
  • Go preheat your grill to medium heat
  • Form your meat into 8 equal size patties and set on a plate while your grill comes to temperature
  • Once warm, place your burgers on the grill and cook ~6 minutes per side or until you reach the level of doneness you desire. 6 minutes at 400 Degrees got me medium rare
  • Once done let them rest for at least 10 minutes before serving and garnish with the sauce below

SAUCE

  • In a small sauce pan, combine all of your ingredients except the sesame oil and simmer over medium heat for about 10-15 minutes or until most of the water has cooked off
  • Place the cooked pineapple in a blender and blend until smooth
  • Add your sesame oil and blend until well incorporated and then use as a sauce for your burgers

Notes

You can cut this recipe in half by using 1 pound ground beef and cutting all the spices in half
